Registered Nurse – Operating Room/Circulating

The Registered Nurse – Operating Room/Circulating is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in the operating room setting. The position involves managing a wide range of elective and emergency surgical cases, ensuring efficient multi-tasking, and maintaining timely surgical proceedings throughout the workday.

Shift Information

• 4/10-hour days, Tuesday through Friday
• On-call coverage required (1/3 share)

Position Summary

This role requires a skilled nurse to support the Operating Room by handling various surgical procedures, which include abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN cases. The nurse will utilize after-hour call services to ensure adequate staffing for nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN, Associate degree in nursing, or Diploma in nursing)
• High school diploma or GED
• A valid, current, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Operating Room

Certifications/Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Additional Qualifications

• Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and/or Rural Operating Rooms is strongly preferred.
