Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a short-term acute care setting. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with expected nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit.
• Assess patient conditions and implement appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and monitor treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Document patient information accurately using Epic charting system.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding health management.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for night shifts, specifically 3×12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Weekend rotations are mandated, with a minimum expectation of working every other weekend. Floating between units may be required.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Prior medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred.

• Scrubs are provided for specific units, while all other nursing staff may wear any color scrubs.
• This position does not offer block scheduling.
