Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical team. This role will primarily involve providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute hospital setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Utilize EPIC software for accurate documentation and patient tracking.
• Support patients and families through education and assistance in understanding care plans and treatments.
• Float to different units as needed, based on the discretion of unit leaders and within the scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Nursing License.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Proficient in using EPIC software for patient documentation.
• Ability to float between units and adapt to various patient care environments as necessary.
• Willingness to comply with all required vaccinations, including the flu vaccine, unless a valid medical or religious exemption is provided ahead of the start date.

Shift Details

This position requires working night shifts, typically consisting of 3 shifts of 12 hours each. The nurse-to-patient ratio will be approximately 1:5 to 1:6.
