CT Technologist

Overview

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality imaging and patient care within both X-ray and Computed Tomography (CT) modalities. The technologist must effectively explain procedures to patients and ensure their understanding and competence regarding the procedures performed. This role includes the production of diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform imaging procedures using CT and X-ray equipment.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout imaging processes.
• Effectively communicate with patients regarding procedures and address any questions.
• Produce high-quality images for interpretation by licensed professionals.
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Must be registered in Radiography (ARRT) (R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C).
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); pending certifications will be accepted if obtained within 2-3 weeks of hire.
• Experience in emergency, trauma, pediatrics, and orthopedic exams in both modalities is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Siemens equipment is advantageous.
• Experience with Epic and PACS is preferred.
• Radiation badges are required and must be provided by the agency.

Shift and Scheduling

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week (7 PM to 7:30 AM).
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
• Floating to similar units may be required based on facility needs.
• All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application.
• The facility reserves the right to cancel one shift every two weeks.

Additional Information

• Studied in a Magnet and Teaching facility with Level 1 Trauma designation.
• All employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June to November.
• Parking is available at a cost during nights and weekends.
