Cardiac Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our dedicated surgical team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality surgical assistance in cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closure during cardiac surgeries.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgeries.
• Potentially assist in DaVinci robotic surgical cases, depending on experience.
• Collaborate effectively in complex cardiac surgeries, including CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall procedure), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement), and heart failure interventions (e.g., Impella).
• Experience in heart transplants is preferred.

Schedule

This position offers flexible scheduling options of 36 or 48 hours per week, primarily on weekdays from 7 AM to 7 PM and 11 AM to 11 PM, with on-call responsibilities based on unit needs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a cardiac RNFA.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• A valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
• Experience in telemetry is required.
