Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of maternal and newborn care, including obstetric triage and antepartum care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, and Antepartum units.
• Conduct vaginal deliveries and assist in cesarean deliveries; circulate in the operating room as needed.
• Start adult IVs and manage blood/blood products administration.
• Utilize and manage epidural pumps, PCA pumps, insulin, and magnesium sulfate treatments.
• Participate in float assignments as required across multiple units.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, LDRP, Post Partum, and Newborn care.
• Current certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, Basic Life Support (BLS), Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in circulating during deliveries, FHM, and intravenous (IV) line initiation.

Patient Care Overview

Patient diagnoses may include various stages of labor, postpartum recovery, and care for normal newborns. The role requires adeptness in handling high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery scenarios, and effective collaboration with the healthcare team.

Staffing Ratio

The staff-to-patient ratio is maintained at 1:1-3, ensuring personalized care and attention for each patient.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to night shifts, working four 12-hour shifts per week.
