Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in a fast-paced medical surgical environment, focusing on adult trauma surgical care. As a vital member of our healthcare team, the registered nurse will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients with diverse surgical needs.

Shift Details

Position is for night shifts, working 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts from 19:00 – 07:30).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Adult Trauma Surgical Unit.
• Be flexible to meet the weekend work requirements based on unit needs, with a commitment to working 50% of the weekends during the contract.
• Participate in the precepting of nursing students, providing mentorship and practical training.
• Perform unit-related activities and may assist in charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
• Float to different levels of care, including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current IN/Compact nursing license, or proof of application for a new license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant field, with Level 1 Trauma experience preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6.

• Gunshot Wounds (GSW)
• Blunt Trauma
• Stab Wounds
• Motor Vehicle Collisions (MVC)
• Falls
• Orthopedic Injuries
• Ostomies
• Hernia Repairs
• Skin Flaps
• Significant Wounds
• Surgical Drains
