Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in a high-acuity environment and be proficient in a variety of cardiovascular procedures.

Position Overview

The Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse will be responsible for circulating during surgical procedures, collaborating with a team of experienced surgeons and OR staff in a fast-paced environment. This position requires both excellent clinical skills and the ability to adapt to varying surgical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate during surgical cases, demonstrating a strong foundation in cardiovascular operations.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring compliance with safety and procedural standards.
• Monitor patient conditions and provide immediate care as required throughout surgical processes.
• Utilize knowledge of common cardiovascular surgical procedures including CABG, MVR, AVR, kidney transplants, and various vascular operations.
• Be available for mandatory on-call shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room setting.
• Current certification in ACLS and BLS.
• Experience circulating in a variety of cardiovascular surgeries is required.
• Scrub experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Information

This position offers a full-time schedule with the expectation of fulfilling weekday, weekend, and holiday on-call requirements. The team operates within 12 suites and manages approximately 20 cases daily. Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records is beneficial.
