Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Registered Nurse with a focus on medical-surgical care to join our team. The successful candidate will provide quality nursing care to patients on an oncology unit, ensuring a supportive environment for patients and their families.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotate with staff
• Orientation: 3 days of floor-specific orientation

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical-Surgical Oncology
• Number of Beds: 29
• Patient Ratios: Generally 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Common Diagnoses: Acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, end-of-life care
• EMR System: Meditech
• Nurse Aides Available: Typically 3 per day
• Floating: Rarely to medical acute units

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a related specialty, with at least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred
• Additional Certification: ONS certification required for chemotherapy administration

Additional Information

This position may involve care for patients transitioning from outpatient areas to the inpatient unit for continued treatment. Candidates must provide information on residency within a 75-mile radius from their driver’s license to the facility at the time of submission.
