Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a long-term care and skilled nursing facility. The position offers a combination of evening and night shifts, with opportunities for both 8-hour and 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in accordance with established protocols.
• Assist residents with daily living activities and monitor their health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document patient care and ensure accurate record-keeping using the electronic medical record system.
• Participate in care plan development and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for residents.

Shift Details

• Variable shifts, primarily from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with one 12-hour night shift each week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing.
• Current BLS Certification is required.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

• Length of assignment: 12 weeks.
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week.
• Overtime may be available based on workload and staffing needs.
• Work schedule is Sunday through Saturday.

Patient Demographics

The facility serves a diverse population with common diagnoses including mild dementia and bariatric care.

Staffing Ratios

The typical patient to nursing ratio is 30 to 1 with two medication aides or 15 to 1 during peak times.
