Radiologic Technologist

Centered in a community known for its charm and close proximity to major metropolitan areas, this position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Radiologic Technologist. You will play a pivotal role in performing Cardiac and Vascular Radiographic examinations and assisting with interventional procedures. You will utilize advanced imaging equipment to support the diagnostic process and enhance patient care.

Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for:

• Performing, assisting, and completing cardiac and vascular radiographic examinations.
• Operating diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system.
• Positioning and instructing patients for examinations, and performing specialized studies as ordered by physicians.
• Assisting physicians with interventional procedures and specialized exams.
• Monitoring patient responses during procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

• Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent is preferred.
• Preferred experience in a Cath Lab or Special Procedures environment.

Licenses and Certifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is preferred.
• Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice is required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor as per policy is required.

Essential Functions

• Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce images that help in the evaluation and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
• Positions and immobilizes patients on examining tables, following specified protocols.
• Utilizes appropriate technical factors to ensure high-quality imaging results.
• Starts automatic injections of contrast media and activates imaging systems under physician guidance.
• Communicates effectively with patients, providing explanations and discharge instructions related to procedures.
• Monitors vital signs and other metrics during imaging to observe patient responses and alert physicians to any changes.
