Unit Overview

The position is located in a 26-bed Acute Care Unit that caters to a diverse patient population. The majority of patients are post-surgical, primarily from General Surgery and Trauma, with post-surgical cases making up 90% of the unit. The remaining 10% includes patients with medical diagnoses. All patient rooms are equipped with cardiac monitoring, capnography, continuous pulse oximetry, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring capabilities.

Schedule

• Contract duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Days, 3×12-hour (07:00 – 19:00)
• Every other weekend and holiday commitment is required
• Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
• Approval for 40 hours of time off is possible

Qualifications

• Must adhere to float policies
• BLS and ACLS certifications are preferred but not required
• Epic experience is required
• Virginia nursing license can be pending at the time of application
