Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.
Unit Overview
The position is located in a 32-bed unit that cares for general medical patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, and musculoskeletal issues, along with dialysis (hemo & peritoneal), sepsis, and various infections.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Epic charting system.
- Participate in educational and training programs to enhance professional skills.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in Kansas or valid multistate license.
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care medical/surgical experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- AHA BLS certification required at the time of submission.
Contract Length
This position offers a contract for a minimum duration of 26 weeks, with a preference for longer contracts ranging from 26 to 51 weeks. Contracts of shorter lengths may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Shift Details
Shifts are 12 hours, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend rotations are required every other weekend. There is a possibility of floating to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient floors as needed.
Holiday Policy
The holiday policy allows for one holiday off with the option to request additional holidays as outlined in the policy.
Vaccination Requirements
All candidates must provide proof of immunity status for Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TDaP, and Influenza, or submit a request for an exemption during the flu season. Tuberculosis (TB) documentation is also required.
