Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position encompasses responsibilities in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and recovery. The nursing staff will be crucial in providing high-quality care to patients during their maternity journey.

Position Details

• Shift: Nights, every third weekend
• Expectations to float to the medical-surgical floor when there are no obstetric patients

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Assist and float to medical-surgical units as needed based on patient census.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in labor and delivery and postpartum care preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to varying patient care needs.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications may be preferred.
