Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and utilizes the nursing process. This role includes supervising and directing various levels of assigned nursing staff while coordinating care with other disciplines. Critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment are essential components of this position.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Acute care facility experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS certification: Required
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification: Required

Essential Functions

• Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develop a care plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes.
• Implement the care plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe health environment.
• Evaluate progress toward attaining desired outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective care.
• Provide educational opportunities and health information to patients and families.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
