Critical Care Nurse (ICU)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Nurse (ICU) to provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients. This position requires the application of scientific nursing principles to enhance patient outcomes in a critical care environment.

Position Responsibilities

• Consult with and coordinate efforts of health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, or IV routes while accurately recording the administration process.
• Report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Provide basic bedside care and monitor patient vital signs.
• Initiate and execute patient education plans as prescribed by the physician, effectively teaching patients and their families about managing illnesses and post-treatment care.
• Record medical information and assess patient conditions through the interpretation of diagnostic tests and lab results.
• Prepare and assist the physician during examinations and treatments.
• Respond to life-saving situations according to nursing standards and protocols.
• Utilize specialized equipment and monitor electronic displays for parameters like central venous pressures and cardiac rhythms.
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing, initiating corrective actions when necessary.

Qualifications

• Valid BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• A valid professional nursing license in the state of practice or a nurse licensure compact.
• Completion of suicide training and verification of demographic data as specified by nursing regulations.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Previous critical care experience in a hospital setting is highly preferred.
