Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a Cardiac ICU setting. This position will also involve caring for overflow patients from the Medical ICU (MICU), Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU, with a primary focus on cardiology-related cases.
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate and patient-centered care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs, ensuring timely interventions as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following facility protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Participate in the education and support of patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatments.
- Float to other ICU areas and support teams as necessary, adapting to unit needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience required.
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with Epic charting system is required.
Work Schedule
- Duration: 15 weeks
- Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:2
- Weekend requirements: Every other weekend; flexibility is advised for unit needs.
- Restricted time off (RTO): No more than 6 days permitted.
Additional Information
- Daily parking fees vary based on days and times, with options for onsite and offsite parking.
- Offsite parking is available with a shuttle service operational Monday to Friday.
- This role may require floating to other ICU units and dealing with high-volume, high-acuity patient cases.
- The management prefers to avoid travel pairs for staffing purposes.
