Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry/Neuro
Position Overview: We are seeking a proficient and dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and neuro care. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patients with neurosurgery conditions, neurological issues, and epilepsy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor patients with various neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, strokes, seizures, and epilepsy.
- Demonstrate proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Handle telemetry responsibilities while ensuring safety and accuracy in monitoring.
- Perform IV starts and care for patients with tracheostomies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Float within the assigned scope to meet facility needs as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in telemetry or neurology.
- Strong neuro experience preferred for first-time travelers.
- Current certifications in NIHSS and BLS are required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including alternating weekends and holidays. RTO restrictions allow for no more than 6 days off.
Work Environment:
- 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Integrated into a Magnet-rated teaching facility with Level 1 Trauma capabilities.
- Daily onsite parking available with fees applicable; offsite parking option with shuttle service also provided.
- Documentation using Epic software, with HARDSTOP requirements for charting.
Patient Population:
- Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Epilepsy patients.
- Conditions include craniotomy, craniectomy, aneurysm clipping and coiling, spinal cord injuries, and changes in mental status.
