Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/Stepdown

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our PCU/Stepdown unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care, specifically in titrating and managing cardiac drips. This position is critical in providing high-level care to patients requiring close monitoring and medical intervention.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the PCU/Stepdown unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including cardiac drips, ensuring proper titration and management.
• Monitor patient vital signs and conduct thorough assessments, documenting changes in the patient’s condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and health management.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and report any issues to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic charting systems.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a PCU or Stepdown environment.
• Proficient in administering and titrating cardiac drips; this is a hardstop requirement.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

This position requires night shifts with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, from 19:00 to 07:00.

Holiday Requirement

Candidates may choose to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not both.
