Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a stepdown unit providing intermediate care for patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular and critical care nursing.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 18
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:3 for post-surgical patients in the first 24 hours
• Common Diagnoses: Patients requiring intermediate care, downgraded CVICU patients, thoracic program support, and various cardiac and vascular related diagnoses.
• Experience Requirement: 2 years with specific patient population experience required.

Responsibilities

• Titrate drips as per physician orders, including medications such as Amiodarone, Nitroprusside, Nicardipine, Epinephrine, and Cardizem.
• Monitor patients’ vitals and recognize changes in their conditions.
• Administer medications and provide patient education.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a cardiovascular or critical care setting.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Additional Information

• The Registered Nurse will be responsible for floating to all same level and lower levels of acuity as needed.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue.
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts tailored to individual needs and experience.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend required.
