ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
Seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our Intermediate Critical Care Unit. The ideal candidate will possess recent ICU experience and will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients with various critical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vitals and manage medications, including titration of cardiac drips
- Utilize rapid response teams effectively
- Administer and manage feeding tubes and heparin protocols
- Provide care for patients requiring PCA and CVA management
- Participate in the care of ventilated patients and manage wound care procedures
Patient Diagnoses
Care for patients with conditions such as:
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Sickle Cell Crisis
- Sepsis
- Respiratory Distress
- Pneumonia
- Heart Failure
- Stroke and stroke-like symptoms
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience is required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must possess current ACLS and BCLS certifications
- Preferred certifications: NHISS
- Experience with telemetry and care management of complex cases is highly valued
Unit Details
- Patient to nurse ratio: 1:4
- Shift: 12-hour nights from 18:45 to 07:15
- Floating to Medical/Surgical units may be required with a ratio of 1:6
- Expected to work at least 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule

- Bipap
- Cpap
- Optiflow
Additional Information
All missed shifts should be made up within the same week whenever possible; if not, compensated time will be added to the end of the contract. Unit orientation will consist of 36 hours, and proper scrubs are required; navy or navy and white.
Successful candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start of the position.
