Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. The role requires commitment to providing high-quality surgical care to patients of all ages while ensuring adherence to safety and clinical excellence standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
• Assist in the preparation and management of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Float to the main Operating Room as necessary.
• Participate in weekday and weekend open heart call as required.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment, working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Monitor patient condition pre, intra, and post-surgery, providing critical care as needed.
• Educate patients and families regarding postoperative care and recovery.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Surgical Services setting preferred.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and CPI/HWC.
• Experience with robotic surgery and level 1 trauma care is preferred.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures, including orthopedic, gynecological, plastic, general, cardiovascular, neurological, urology, and podiatry.

• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:1
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: EPIC
• Patient population: Serves all ages

Work Schedule

The position typically requires availability for varied shifts, including 9-5, 11-7, 1-9, 3-11, and weekend daylight shifts. Additionally, being on call one or two times a week may be required.
