Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Med Intermediate

Position Information

This role involves providing nursing care in a Cardiac Stepdown Unit with the following details:

Shift: Nights, 1900-0730
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48
Assignment Length: 16 weeks
Weekend Hours: As required, typically every other weekend
Call Requirements: None

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

Licensure: Current RN License eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only. NIHSS is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience required.

Unit Information

The Cardiac Med Intermediate Unit includes:

Number of Beds: 32
Patient Ratios: 1:3-1:4
Equipment: Chest tubes, Temp Pacemakers, Bipaps
EMR: EPIC

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities encompass:

Utilizing the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Monitoring and coordinating patient care activities with ancillary departments to enhance patient comfort and care.
Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality while providing accountable care.
Participating as a team player and promoting a positive workplace culture.

Working Conditions

Physical and mental demands include:

Standing and walking for extended periods.
Significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance.
Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
Ability to handle physical demands such as pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs.
