CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 13-week assignment. This position requires strong clinical skills in cardiovascular operating room settings and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Position Information

• Shift: Days – 5×8, Monday to Friday, 0600-1430
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: Weekly and weekends, varies per staffing

Qualifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN License eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year CVOR experience preferred, with 2 years or more being a plus
• Personality Fit: Must demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and reliability

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 2 OR suites for cardiothoracic within the main OR complex, 21 beds total
• Patient Ratios: 1 patient per case
• Equipment: Stryker cameras, Zoll defibrillators, etc.
• EMR: EPIC

Role Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process in perioperative practice, conducting thorough patient assessments including physical, emotional, and cultural aspects.
• Collaborate to formulate and implement a perioperative nursing care plan as required, providing interventions aligned with patient needs.
• Supervise team actions to ensure readiness and timeliness for surgical procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of anatomy and expected locations of structures during surgeries, anticipating and addressing unique patient needs.
• Apply principles of asepsis and infection control, ensuring proper surgical practices are followed at all times.
