CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Information

• Role: RN

• Shift: Days, 5×8, Mon-Fri, 0600-1430
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Call Requirements: Weekly and weekend on-call support as needed

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 2 OR suites for cardiothoracic procedures
• Patient Ratios: 1 patient per case
• Equipment: Advanced surgical equipment including cameras and defibrillators
• EMR: EPIC

Qualifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN License in the state of Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year in CVOR
• Preferred Experience: 2 or more years in CVOR
• Float Requirements: As required by unit needs

Responsibilities

The CVOR Registered Nurse will:

• Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care.
• Conduct thorough assessments of patients, encompassing physical, emotional, developmental, and cultural factors.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to formulate and implement perioperative nursing care plans.
• Supervise the readiness and timeliness of surgical procedures and interventions.
• Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Monitor patient outcomes and document assessments and interventions.
