LPN (Nights) – Rehabilitation

Position Overview

This role is focused on providing high-quality nursing care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation or medical-surgical nursing, as most patients are referred from a trauma center. Nurses will work collaboratively to maximize patient health, function, and quality of life through comprehensive rehabilitation programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients recovering from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries.
• Assist in achieving patient recovery goals and facilitate a return to independent living.
• Support the nursing team by assisting certified nursing assistants and responding promptly to patient needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as EPIC.
• Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and contribute to ongoing staff training as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a skilled nursing or similar 24/7 care environment.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with EPIC required.
• Previous experience in inpatient rehabilitation or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work varying hours, including every other weekend and holiday rotations.

Work Environment

This position involves working in an acute inpatient rehabilitation facility with a focus on high-acuity patients. Staff will be responsible for ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all patients.

Additional Information

• Shift: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Patient to nurse ratio: 1:7.
• Mandatory participation in scheduled breaks during shifts.
