Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care settings, including rehabilitation, and will be responsible for providing quality care to patients recovering from orthopedic and cardiac procedures, as well as managing wounds, hypertension, congestive heart failure, and renal failure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a 41-bed short-term rehabilitation unit.
• Administer and manage care for patients with wound care needs, including wound vacs and IVs.
• Assist with the care of nephrostomy patients and handle PICC lines.
• Ensure adherence to patient care ratios: 1:8 during the day, 1:20 at night, and 1:10 on weekends.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
• Must reside more than 75 miles away from the facility (local candidates not accepted).
• Experience with patient ratio of 1:10 is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system is necessary.

Schedule

This position includes mid-shifts (14:00 – 22:00) on a 5×8-hour basis with weekend coverage required every other week.

Special Equipment and Patient Care

Experience with wound vacs and other specialized equipment is essential. The role involves delivering comprehensive care focused on rehabilitation and recovery.
