Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Position Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care by utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Maintain accountability for patient safety and quality of care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in clinical decision-making.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and skills training.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience required.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP are required.

Schedule Details

This position typically involves night shifts with varied hours.
