Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trauma care and must be dedicated to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level I Trauma Center, ensuring assessment and management of medical emergencies.
• Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC charting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and ensure continuous patient safety.
• Engage in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
• Participate in triage and continuous IV sedation as needed.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility with scheduling, including working three weekends (Friday to Sunday) in a four-week period. Shifts will be 12 hours from 07:00 to 19:30.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • State license
  • ACLS
  • BCLS by AHA
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • NIH
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience, with Level I trauma experience essential.
  • Experience in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
  • Experience with EPIC charting strongly preferred.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration.
  • Triage experience.

Additional Information

This role will involve a high patient-to-nurse ratio, potentially reaching up to 8 patients depending on daily admissions. The Emergency Department is also a designated Stroke Center and Heart Center, as well as a Pediatric Emergency Department.
