Responsibilities

• Conduct triage for patients in a designated triage room when patient rooms are at capacity.
• Manage ER holds alongside patient care responsibilities.
• Provide care in separate safe behavioral health rooms available in the department.
• Ensure security presence in the ER, with a focus on safety and support.
• Maintain high nurse-to-patient ratios while delivering quality care.
• Collaborate with emergency room physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff.
• Participate in patient care management, including performing assessments and documentation using EMR systems.
• Administer treatments that may include common cardiac, respiratory, and gastrointestinal health issues.
• Utilize RT equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP machines, while troubleshooting as needed.
• Handle laboratory draws with a focus on accuracy and efficiency through the Steri-path system for blood cultures.
• Engage with patients, families, and team members to provide holistic care and support.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • SANE
• Experience working in a fast-paced emergency room environment.
• Must possess strong reliability and work ethic.
• Ability to float and cover various tasks as needed.

Additional Information

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday requirements every other rotation.
• Orientation provided based on prior experience; customized to meet the needs of new team members.
• Uniforms: Grey tops and black pants are required.
