Position Summary

This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Room setting. The candidate must possess strong clinical skills and experience in managing critical patient conditions. Charge nurse experience is required. The position is based in a critical access facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with various conditions, including trauma, strokes, and respiratory issues.
• Manage patient assignments and ensure effective communication within the team.
• Administer common intravenous drips, such as Heparin and Levophed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care.

Nurse-Patient Ratios

• ER: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
• Med/surg: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6

Unit Orientation

• 1-12 hour shift of unit-specific orientation is provided.

Additional Notes

Attributes that enhance success in this role include teamwork, communication, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure. Nurses will float between the ER, Medsurg, and Swing Bed as needed.

Scheduling

• Shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Every third holiday
• Self/team scheduling available

Patient Population

The Emergency Room treats a wide range of patients from pediatrics to geriatrics, dealing with various diagnoses including but not limited to pneumonia, UTIs, observation patients, and short-term swing bed patients.
