Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

A Registered Nurse is needed for Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care. The role includes responsibilities in delivery rooms, postpartum units, and supporting breastfeeding initiatives. The average number of deliveries per month is approximately 40, with around 6 C-sections occurring monthly.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to expectant mothers, newborns, and postpartum patients.
• Assist in labor, delivery, and recovery processes, ensuring safety and comfort for both mother and baby.
• Participate in charge nurse duties after completing the necessary training.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to support breastfeeding initiatives and maternal education.
• Be flexible in covering shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Experience Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care within a healthcare setting. In some instances, additional experience may be required.

Shift Schedule

This position operates on a 12-hour day shift. Flexibility is essential, as there may be a need to work other shifts in addition to weekends and holidays.

Required Certifications

• American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (or RNC-EFM may be substituted)

Additional Information

Travelers may occasionally be required to float to other departments where they have qualifications. Responsibilities may include taking patient loads if experienced and competent in those settings or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones.
