Job Details

• Target Ratios: 1:5-6
• Shift: 12-hour nights (36 or 48 hours accepted)
• Contract Length: 13-26 weeks
• Floating Requirement: Required
• Weekend Commitment: 12-16 shifts per contract

Responsibilities

Contract staff will be expected to work on Storm and Hurricane Teams. There may be a requirement to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Mid-contract consolidation to a Centralized Office may occur, and contract staff may be pre-assigned to various units as needed.

Patient Diagnoses

Experience with a diverse range of patient diagnoses including, but not limited to:

• Dementia
• Diabetes
• COVID
• Pneumonia
• COPD
• Sepsis
• Encephalopathy
• GI Bleed
• Anemia
• Hip Fracture

Unit Details

The unit includes an isolation area for COVID patients and offers multi-level care, including stepdown, which is managed by stepdown staff, not Med/Surg staff.

Orientation

Orientation consists of a 24-hour unit training, with hospital orientation during the first week. The traveler must be available for classes each day.
