Registered Respiratory Therapist

Description:

Join a dedicated team providing exceptional respiratory care in a supportive environment. The position involves performing both basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients. The successful candidate will work independently and supervise others as required. Responsibilities include administering therapies for respiratory diseases as per physician orders and departmental policies.

Essential Functions:

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed therapies for patients receiving respiratory care services.
• Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy; maintain accurate patient charts.
• Draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician orders.
• Provide care to patients on ventilators.
• Participate in department record-keeping and operations.
• Assist in training and supervising new employees.
• Document care provided and maintain records of treatments.
• Perform drainage procedures and support patient care related to cardiorespiratory diseases.
• Provide insights regarding patient treatments and pulmonary progress.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential preferred.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required at time of hire or within 90 days.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire or within 90 days.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at time of hire or within 90 days.
• At least two years of recent experience in respiratory therapy is preferred.

This is a night shift position requiring three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends. Candidates must be able to perform intubation and have experience in both NICU and pediatric care.
