Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry care for an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. This role requires a compassionate approach to geriatric patients while focusing on preserving cognitive and physical functions to support recovery and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver optimal nursing care to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older.
• Manage telemetry-capable care, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Execute IV starts, blood product administration, and line management (central, peripheral, and PICC).
• Actively participate in heparin protocols and telemetry-capable care.
• Monitor and support cognitive functions and physical mobility among elderly patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the patient care experience and reduce length of stay.

Schedule Details

• Shift: Night shifts (3×12-Hour) from 19:00 to 07:30.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Call Off Policy: Facility reserves the right to call off 1 shift per every 2 weeks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting.
• 1 year of experience with EPIC charting required.
• Active South Carolina or multistate nursing license.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required.
• Proficient in geriatric-focused care with demonstrated competency in telemetry management.

Unit Information

The Acute Care for the Elderly unit comprises 26 beds, staffed by a specially trained team focused on the unique needs of geriatric patients.

• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5.
• Agency staff may be required to float to other units as needed, limited to areas where qualifications and competencies are documented.
