Operating Room Staff Nurse (RN)

Job Summary: The Operating Room Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients across a wide age range within the Surgical Services Department. This role involves supervising and coordinating care planning with other disciplines.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• At least two years of recent experience in nursing.
• Current California RN license is required.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Initial certification and recertification in American Heart Association BLS every two years.
• ACLS certification required within six months of employment and recertified every two years for all registered nurses in Nursing Supervision, Med/Surg, Emergency Department, Perioperative Services, and ICU.
• PALS certification required within six months of employment and recertified every two years for Registered Nurses in Med/Surg, Perioperative Services, and ICU.
• Credentials in areas of practice preferred, such as CNOR, PANAC, and AAOPU for Outpatient Services.

Equipment Used:

• Frequent use of cell phones, computers, telephone systems, laser printers, monitors, glucometers, IV, PCA, and epidural pumps.
• Occasional use of photocopiers and fax machines.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a day shift with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with additional on-call duties as necessary.
