Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a dynamic unit providing care for adult and geriatric patients. This position requires a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the possibility of caring for COVID patients and being part of an Inclement Weather Team. The nurse will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit with a daily census of approximately 43 patients.
• Assist in managing Heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, and high-flow oxygen treatments.
• Manage care for patients requiring limited short-term BiPap with respiratory support without additional training.
• Participate in storm and hurricane team efforts, responding during catastrophic events or mass casualties.
• Attend unit team meetings and contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted.
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
• RTO (Request Time Off) is limited to 7 days maximum.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• BCLS certification is required.
• CPI and charge nurse experience are preferred.
• This position is open to first-time travelers and local candidates.

Orientation and Training

A 24-hour orientation will be provided to ensure that all staff are fully prepared to meet patient care expectations and unit protocols.

Additional Information

All traveling nurses are required to pass an EKG test prior to commencing their duties. They will also be part of a team responsible for managing inclement weather situations and other emergent scenarios, ensuring the safety and care of all patients.
