Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) position is primarily focused in the Cardiac Cath Lab with responsibilities that include circulating and monitoring patients. The role requires collaboration with other healthcare professionals in a sterile environment, particularly within electrophysiology (EP) procedures.

Shift Information

This position operates on a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. Education sessions occur on Fridays, and attendance is expected for all staff, including travelers.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and monitor patients during procedures.
• Assist with various cardiac interventions including ablations, device implantations, and electrophysiology studies.
• Maintain a sterile environment, adhering to all safety and health protocols.
• Collaborate with a team of Cath Lab Techs and a Coordinator for effective patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Cath Lab setting; 2 years preferred.
• Required certifications include BLS and ACLS.
• Experience in scrubbing within the EP lab is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMRs, specifically Epic, is essential.
• Ability to respond to call requirements, typically three weeknights per month and one weekend.
• Must be comfortable floating to the Cath Lab for additional support as needed.

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with MacLab/Cardiolab and Biosense Webster mapping is preferred.
• Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergency situations effectively.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaboration with the cardiology team.

Orientation

New hires will undergo one week of orientation on the unit following standard onboarding procedures.

Additional Information

This role expects participation in call rotations among a four-person team, and candidates should be situated at least 25 miles from the facility to fulfill call requirements.
