Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, the Physical Therapist is responsible for directing physical therapy services. This role involves coordinating and supervising the operation of the department, administering physical agents as prescribed by referring physicians, and maintaining performance improvement activities within the department. The Physical Therapist participates in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities and assures the competency of all personnel. Responsibilities also include assisting in budget formulation, evaluations, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulatory laws and standards.

Position Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of experience in physical therapy preferred.
• Current licensure or certification as a physical therapist in California.
• Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
• Understanding of disease processes and related causative factors.
• Familiarity with the benefits and values of rehabilitative medicine and physical therapy agents.
• Knowledge of infection control, sterile techniques, and their impact on rehabilitative practices.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A commitment to teamwork, confidentiality, respect for others, and accountability for work output.

• Operate equipment safely and maintain a clean and safe department environment.
• Engage with patients and families in the care planning process.
• Coordinate patient care to meet their needs and adhere to hospital policies.
