Registered Nurse – Operating Room/Circulating

This position is located within the Operating Room. The role involves managing a variety of elective and emergency surgical cases including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN procedures. The nurse will ensure that surgical cases proceed in an efficient and timely manner throughout the day.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and management of surgical cases in the Operating Room.
• Utilize after-hour call services to staff the Operating Room for nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Effectively multitask and prioritize during surgical procedures.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN, Associate degree in nursing, or Diploma in nursing).
• High school diploma or GED.
• A valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Operating Room.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and/or Rural Operating Rooms is strongly preferred.

Shift Information:

This position requires a schedule of four 10-hour days, from Tuesday through Friday, along with on-call coverage on a shared basis.

Additional Information:

• Holiday coverage is not required.
• Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during their assignment.
• Fingerprint cards are required for processing, and timely submission is essential to avoid delays in the start date.
