Surgical Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will work independently following department orientation and provide quality nursing care across various surgical specialties, including general surgery, neurology, spine, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, and dentistry. Training will be provided for specific procedures such as eye care and dental surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care during surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation using Meditech EMR.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new staff as needed.
• Assist in various surgical specialties and adapt to changing needs within the department.

Qualifications

• Completion of ARN 101 training.
• Certification as a CAORN is preferred.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation.

Health and Certifications Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination.
• MMR vaccination.
• Hepatitis B vaccination.
• Influenza vaccination.
• TB test results (negative chest X-ray for positive PPD).
• Current driver’s license or state ID.
• Physical/health statement.

Additional Information

The schedule requires availability for various on-call periods and the flexibility to work extended hours as needed throughout the week, with occasional weekend coverage. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to patient care and be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
