Registered Nurse (RN)

Job & Shift Information

Join our team as a registered nurse in a stepdown unit specializing in oncology and medical/surgical care. This position involves working 12-hour night shifts, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: PCU/Oncology (5 North)
• Primary Patient Population: Adult Oncology and Trauma PCU patients
• Number of Beds: 18

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Oncology experience is preferred but strong PCU experience is acceptable.

Certifications

• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• ONS/ONCC Certification – Preferred but not required

Patient Ratios

• Days: 1:4-1:5
• Nights: 1:4-1:5

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available, balancing team needs

Floating Requirements

Traveling nurses may be required to float to other Medical/Surgical and PCU units, maintaining the same level of care during assignments.

Orientation

Two days of unit orientation will be provided upon hire.

Drugs & Skills

Nurses will occasionally titrate Insulin and Cardizem drips. Common medications include:

• Chemotherapy
• Heparin
• Cardizem
• Protonix

Respiratory Equipment

Commonly encountered respiratory equipment includes high-flow oxygen delivery systems.
