Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join our team. The SPT will be responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage workload demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the sterilization process.
• Maintain accurate inventory of surgical instruments and ensure timely availability for surgical teams.
• Participate in training and professional development as required.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as necessary, which may include assignment at sister facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing, with Level 1 Trauma experience required.
• Proven experience in sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping within a sterile processing environment.
• Preferred experience in Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases.
• Current national certification from CBSPD and/or HSPA is required.
• BLS certification is not required for this position.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12s (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Holiday rotation may be required.
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Additional Information

This role includes potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November. Candidates should consider this when applying for the position.

Parking is available for a one-time payment for nights and weekends.
