Job Description
Radiologic Technologist
We are seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures as requested by physicians and Radiologists. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of advanced anatomy and the ability to provide exceptional care to patients, particularly those experiencing pain. Adherence to AIDET guidelines for patient interaction is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with established department protocols and standard timeframes.
- Prepare and orient patients to the procedures being performed.
- Provide patient care while in the Radiology Department.
- Ensure radiation safety for patients, co-workers, and self.
- Operate imaging equipment and maintain all equipment in accordance with departmental and manufacturer recommendations.
- Search for prior studies in the PACS system and request merges when necessary.
- Prepare and maintain documentation in accordance with departmental and hospital policies.
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area, stocking supplies and cleaning surfaces regularly.
- Exhibit professionalism in interactions with patients, visitors, and staff, consistently practicing AIDET guidelines.
- Stay current with radiologic technology and participate in professional educational workshops and programs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program is required.
- Thorough knowledge of radiographic imaging equipment, anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology, and basic computer skills.
- A minimum of one year of experience is required, which can be met with clinical education experience.
- ARRT certification and New Mexico State licenses are required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position with a schedule of 3 days and 12 hours per day.
Additional Requirements:
- Weekend availability is required.
- Floating between multiple locations may be necessary.
