Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This position involves providing respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in critical care and emergency department settings.

Shift Details

Typical shifts are 3×12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other weekend and holiday commitment is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy to adult and geriatric patients.
• Support patients requiring critical care and emergency services.
• Work closely with rapid response teams to provide necessary respiratory interventions throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience; RRT preferred, CRT candidates with 5 years of experience may be considered.
• Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings is required.
• Airway management experience, including intubation assistance, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
• Comfort in caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomies.
• Experience with bronchoscopy support and sputum specimen collection.
• Ventilator management skills, including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and mechanical ventilation weaning.
• Perform chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gas collection, and ABG interpretation.
• Proficiency with BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilators, high-flow oxygen systems, and nebulizer/aerosol medication delivery systems is essential.

Certifications

• Active Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.

Additional Information

• No float requirement indicated; the position does not involve floating between units.
• Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests are allowed per contract, with specific restrictions on holidays.
• Local candidates are accepted.
