Medical Assistant-Certified

Job Description

The Medical Assistant-Certified will support a Hematology & Oncology clinic by performing various patient care and administrative duties. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and has a commitment to providing exceptional support to both patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist with back-office flow to ensure efficiency.
• Transcribe orders into the electronic health record system (Epic).
• Perform patient messaging and follow up on queries.
• Abstract and prepare patient charts for medical providers.
• Conduct reminder calls and manage incoming faxes.
• Assist in facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid BLS certification.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or outpatient setting.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA-C) is required.
• Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
• Strong back-office clinical experience, including patient care.

Schedule

This position is full-time, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. No weekend or holiday requirements are expected.

Dressing Code

Scrubs are required as part of the dress code.

Additional Notes

The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, managing an average of 20 patients per day with support for a maximum of 2 providers. This role is tailored for those who thrive in an ambulatory care setting.
