Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process by providing skilled and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders. Under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will utilize evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative treatment interventions per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• Administer various rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and the use of supportive and assistive devices.
• Monitor and assess patient progress, communicating findings to the supervising Physical Therapist for necessary treatment adjustments.
• Document all treatment summaries and effectively maintain patient records according to company policy.
• Engage in consultations with patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders and rehabilitation plans.
• Actively participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences and rehabilitation discussions.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to APTA and state required practice acts and ethical standards in all professional activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience is required.
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings is necessary.
• Current PTA license is required.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply if they have completed a Level II clinical experience.

This position does not have weekend or on-call requirements, offering a stable work-life balance while providing essential care to those in need of rehabilitation services.
