Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown Neuro

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join the Stepdown Neuro team for a 15-week contract. This position requires a strong background in neurology and telemetry, with a focus on the management and interpretation of dysrhythmias. The candidate must be proficient in the diverse and complex needs of neuro patients, including those with traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and other neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care for patients in the Stepdown Neuro unit, focusing on neurosurgery, neurology, and epilepsy conditions.
Monitor telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
Perform IV starts and care for patients with tracheostomies.
Coordinate with the healthcare team to implement effective care plans.
Participate in patient assessments and documentation using Epic charting.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required; strong neuro experience preferred for first-time travelers.
Required certifications include NIH Stroke Scale certification and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Additional Requirements

Travelers will be required to work 2 major holidays and will have the option to take one holiday off.
Available to float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs.
Expected to work every other weekend; flexibility in scheduling is essential.
Mandatory proficiency in telemetry and management of dysrhythmias.
