Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. This position involves providing care to a variety of patients with medical diagnoses.

Unit Details

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg Tele)
• Bed Capacity: 24 beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:4 (based on telemetry assignment)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage patients with a range of common diagnoses such as UTI, pleural effusions, altered mental status, hepatic encephalopathy, dehydration, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, and cellulitis.
• Titrate heparin drips as per protocol.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
• Assist with total cares for patients requiring additional support.

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg
• Required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Technical Skills: Ability to perform basic cardiac monitoring; familiarity with Philips cardiac monitoring systems preferred.

Work Schedule

• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (Day shifts)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week (example: 7a – 7p)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: Rotational with permanent staff

• No self-scheduling; travelers fill in where needed.
• Floating requirement to other Medical Surgical Tele units may apply.
• Scrub color: Navy blue top and bottom; Black or white shoes; tattoos must be covered.
