ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac ICU, specializing in cardiovascular intensive care. The ideal candidate will have experience with fresh open-heart surgeries and a solid background in mixed ICU patient care.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Cardio IC (Cardiovascular Intensive Care)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS preferred

Shift Notes

• 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend (EOW), may float to other units.
• Proctored Dysrhythmia Test required onsite on the first day, PASS/FAIL basis.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 30 beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1 to 1-2, with 90% of the time being a 1 to 2 ratio
• Charge Nurse: Yes, does not take patient assignments.
• Nurse Aides: No
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, no current holiday requirement.
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Telemetry: GE monitors
• Ventilators: Yes
• Hospitalist or Intensivist Support: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy Availability: 24/7
• RT Availability: 24/7

Scheduling

12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Schedules are made approximately six weeks in advance and involve self-scheduling, subject to manager review before finalization.

Orientation

One day of unit-specific orientation is provided for new hires.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must have recent experience with fresh open-heart procedures and be comfortable managing mixed ICU patients.
